January 15, 2009 – Fire Stand-By

Huntington Community First Aid Squad responded to its forth house fire this year at 30 Rancher Place in Huntington this morning.  Chief Dominic Heavey and Captain Samantha Ryan lead more than 15 volunteers and 5 pieces of equipment, including the Squads Mass Causality Vehicle, two Advance Life Support Ambulance and two First Responder Vehicles. Greenlawn Fire Department was also called in to assist in covering the district during the fire. They responded with a full crew.

The Squad
The Huntington Community First Aid Squad provides Advanced Life Support Ambulances and Emergency Medical Services to the residents of the Huntington Community Ambulance District located within the town of Huntington, New York. The Huntington Community Ambulance District covers an area from Lloyd Harbor and Lloyd Neck in the north to Melville in the south and from the Nassau/Suffolk boarder and Cold Spring Harbor in the west to Greenlawn and Dix Hills in the East. Over 200 volunteer members responded to 5,731 calls during 2008.
